Ministry Boards Albany
Synod serves in ministry through the work of the Classis Ministries Board and
the Fowler Ministries Board. The Classis
Ministries Board Mission Statement The overall goal of the Classis Ministries Board of the
Regional Synod of Albany is to promote healing and nurture in classes and
congregations, so that they may be empowered to live out faithful and fruitful
mission in God’s world. What does the
Classis Ministries Board Do? The CMB oversees the Synod’s efforts to provide for church revitalization, clergy support, leadership development, clergy networking, development of clergy leadership, discipleship resourcing, and resourcing for social witness. At present the board is offering to classes and
congregations these opportunities.

Synod-wide Christmas Gifts for Persons and Families with HIV/AIDS. Go to “Events” on our website and scroll down to download publicity pieces. Print copies were handed out to Classis Ministry Board members for distribution to individual congregations. We partner with AIDS Community Resources, The AIDS Council of Northeastern New York, and AIDS Rochester, to bring Christmas cheer in the form of toiletries and
other gifts to HIV/AIDS clients and their families. Secure online contributions
are also welcomed. 2. January 11-15, 2010 Mediation Skills Training The Mediation Skills Training Institute presented by the Lombard Mennonite Peace Center (LMPC) is designed to equip church leaders with the skills necessary to deal effectively with interpersonal, congregational, and other forms of group conflict. The five-day institute also includes a component on congregational intervention and consultation, placed within the context of family systems theory. Registration flyers are being sent to synod churches and
all pertinent information can be downloaded from our website. Go to “Events”
and scroll down to the January event. Scholarship assistance is available to

a.m.-3:00 p.m. Transforming Discipleship Event This event provides the foundation for growing and
empowering faithful and fruitful disciples. All church leaders are encouraged to
attend. Included in the day will be workshops for consistory and Christian
education and youth leaders. Watch our synod website for more information. Future plans include a Caring for Creation Event (May 23-25
at camp Fowler) and clergy networking, preaching elder and revitalization

Fowler Camp and Retreat Center is a Christina Camp whose
mission is t The FMB runs the annual summer camp with 800 campers, cares
for the grounds and facilities at Fowler, offers retreats for members of our
denomination and many other groups, and provides an important link between all
the members of Synod. Check out the Camp
